How Inciper helped a luxury fragrance brand evaluate a migration to Dynamics 365
An international luxury fragrance house renowned for creating some of the world’s finest perfumes had undergone a sustained period of business change, which reshaped their go-to market strategies and following a period of significant growth the business faced a number of challenges.
With an ageing AX solution, a high number of customisations and manual integrations with third party applications, they approached a number of Microsoft Partners to help evaluate the benefits of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 migration.
Business Challenges
With an increase in sales channels across multiple regions, sales and supply chain were identified as critical areas requiring process and reporting improvements, to meet both current and future growth.
A lack of accurate and timely sales reporting, in addition to poor inventory visibility across locations and multiple SKU’s meant that effective decision making was challenging across manufacturing.
Inciper’s Strategy and Advisory team proposed a digital transformation engagement powered by the Microsoft Catalyst framework, providing the business with a holistic review of its business objectives over the coming years. Together, Inciper and the business compared this to the current system landscape with a view of providing a solution blueprint and roadmap to help the business decide on the optimised suite of products to meet its business objectives.
Digital Transformation Programme
It became apparent from the Solution Assessment phase that the Microsoft Ecosystem would offer the most suitable solutions to enable business change.
Through the IDEA framework, Inciper carried out a number of workshops focused on the business’s strategic priorities and current challenges, key impact areas and initiatives, as well as quantifying the potential business and technological impact of change.
Inciper started with one-to-one interviews with the senior team, understanding how they wanted to develop the business and the pain points in each area, giving Inciper’s teams an understanding of the whole organisation and allow them to focus in on areas where there was variance in viewpoint between the teams. Inciper looked at the vision and mission statement of the business and outlined how that was going to be realised through a series of strategic change initiatives.
Inciper guided the conversation around each pain point and for each one considered how it could be resolved by looking at the human at the centre of the process and how to improve their experience. Initiatives were then rated according to effort, value and importance to produce a collectively agreed, prioritised map of areas of change for the business.
Inciper was able to show how the capabilities of the available solutions would help drive the resolution of the outlined business challenges, through a set of integrated, interoperating systems being implemented in a series of projects over time - taking into account the business’s annual business cycles.
Inciper reviewed the process areas to scope out the functionality required across the solutions.
A business value assessment, was produced giving them an implementation roadmap and a costed approach to delivery, incorporating not just technology but also people and process change.
Through the engagement Inciper was able to help the business clarify the business benefits from a business application transformation programme with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain, Commerce and the Power Platform.
